Description
This is the fifty-seventh destination in the collection of the series "Ragtime at the Red-Light District." This piece is set at Lausanne’s Sevelin.

The main character in this piece is a 31-year old sports radio disc jockey and journalist. This person has been regarded as a trendsetter in the industry, having covered a range of sporting activities across the globe, ranging from rugby and association football to the more bizarre and unprecedented events that include zorbing and even ostrich racing. The main character takes joy in covering many events, even if the commentaries have often cost the individual his job nine times. Nevertheless, this person opted to continue his occupation abroad and Switzerland was where the dream was to continue, with the focus being on Lausanne. Upon arrival, the main character managed to meet various people of different athletic activities, including a team of rugby-influenced clergy from the Protestant Cathedral of Notre Dame, several female expatriates from Business School Lausanne who are also American football semi-professionals, and even homeless people who hang out at the Lausanne Railway Station that are also expert canal vaulters.

The main character sought to be even more ambitious and decided to enjoy a power walk that led the individual Stade Olympique de la Pontaise, where the International Olympic Committee was holding an unprecedented hiring process of hiring 144 new media journalists to work across the world for life. The main character did not hold back and decided to join the 29,584 people that also applied for a rare opportunity.

With the task accomplished, the main character decided to celebrate by taking another power walk toward Sevelin. Upon arrival, the main character managed to meet various people who has also taken power walks from the stadium. It was on the street where the main character met a multitude of various people, including an aspiring woman who works regularly at Sevelin. The main character spent time talking to the woman about their dreams and aspirations. As evening unfolded, a special courier from the International Olympic Committee arrived on horseback and announced the 144 people that earned the jobs. Both the main character and the woman the individual was speaking to were among those selected. Both people later spent the rest of the evening humbly enjoyed the evening on the waterfront.
