Description
This is the sixty-fourth destination in the collection of the series "Ragtime at the Red-Light District." This piece is set at Bangkok's Soi Cowboy.

The main character in this piece is a 29-year-old residential property manager. This person has been operating unusual apartment complexes and other condominiums across many metropolises and suburbs. Nevertheless, these dwellings, along with the main character's successes, have been alleged to be nefarious. That was because the main character's places have hosted the most unusual activities, including, but not limited to: a senior living facility converted to a speakeasy and a waterfront condominium that offers round-the-clock strip blackjack and strip poker, along with hourly saturnalias.

Various general contractors urged and even mandated the main character to go abroad to get a better understanding of his profession. Therefore, a wise sage with loins girt escorted the main character to Bangkok to show the main character the city's most notable architectural marvels, including Rattanakosin Island, the Grand Palace, and in particular Wat Phra Kaew, the Giant Swing and Wat Arun. Even Supachalasai Stadium was included on the itinerary as the stadium hosted an Asian Cup qualifier. However, the main character spent more time learning about the stadium than watching the actual game. After all, the wise sage spoke a loquacious speech about the stadium's architecture that put some spectators to permanent sleep.

After the game, the main character and the sage embarked on a strenuous power walk to one final destination: the Soi Cowboy. The main character had visited Soi Cowboy as a spring break destination in the past, where the individual indulged in excess. Yet, the sage showed a different picture to the main character: beneath the fun, and the excitement was a rather sordid situation in which some of the workers performed illegal and illicit acts daily. The sage wanted to send a message through the trip that his architectural marvels while providing satisfaction in the flesh, was not providing moral comfort. The main character reflected on this after noticing some skimpy-clothed first-year college students meeting with flatulent men inside a classy bordello. Realizing the situation meant the main character decided to go to a nearby coffee shop with the sage, who later revealed her identity as the main character's mother.

This piece had a format of AABBA4CCDD4A4. James Scott's "Paramount Rag" and George Botsford's "Universal Rag" were the basis for this piece. Note that the right hand in the C section uses the Major Locrian scale.
